Christmas Shoeboxes

These missions reach out to people who may not come in contact with church any other way. You can find out more about these missions by reading the descriptions below. If you are interested in helping in some way, email Jack and Wilma Simmons at salembaptassoc@bbtel.com

One mission is located in West Point. Here, Jack and Wilma Simmons hold services for a group in a trailer court. The Westpoint Chapel meets every Thursday evening starting at 5:00 pm. A backyard Bible club is held for the children, and there is usually 15-20 kids that attend. At 6:30 pm, the adults have a prayer meeting and church service. Also, a worship service is held at 9 am on Sunday. In all, there are about 35 people that regulaly attend West Point each week.

Another mission, also ran by Jack and Wilma, is located in Flaherty. Each Saturday, a bus is used to reach kids that are not able to go to an area church for one reason or another. The kids are picked up with the bus, and are then able to attend a backyard Bible club that starts at 6:30 pm, with an average attendance of 12 each week.

A third mission takes place on Sunday evening. Jack and Wilma meet in Scenic Drive at 6:00 and hold a backyard Bible club. Each week, there are around 15 children that attend and experience the gospel.
